Professor Ryutaro Tateishi, Chiba University, Japan had a working visit at FIMO

On 7th January 2016, Professor Ryutaro Tateishi, Director of Center for Environmental Remote Sensing (CEReS), Chiba University, Japan had a visit to FIMO. Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Director of FIMO center and FIMO’s staffs attended the meeting.

Professor Tateishi is famous for land remote sensing, land cover monitoring and global environmental database. One of his famous products is the CEReS Gaia system which is a Geospatial Data Sharing/Overlay System. The CEReS Gaia system has also successfully installed at FIMO Center as the first collaboration between FIMO and CEReS Center.

During the meeting, FIMO’s staff introduced some FIMO’s researches and products to Professor Tateishi including APOM, FORES Fire, Ship Monitoring Systems. Professor Tateishi appreciated FIMO’ effort to research and develop these systems.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides were unanimous in potential for continuing collaboration in future.
